Construction of Runway North

In order to meet the requirements of air traffic also in the future, Leipzig/Halle Airport has undergone extensive redevelopment.

In March 2000, the new 3,600m Runway North was put into operation. The runway, which was planned and built in the record time of just five years, makes it possible to reach any destination non-stop from Leipzig/Halle. The new Runway North does not have any restrictions and enables 24-hour operation.
