Safety at the Airport

The subject of safety is extremely important in all areas of an airport. Whether one considers flying itself, as the safest form of transport, the airport facilities and buildings, or the passenger inspections before departure, safety has the highest priority everywhere.

Concern for safety is adopted, not only by the airport itself, but also by the responsible authorities, the airlines and all of the service providers operating at the airport.

Winter road clearance service

When ice and snow arrive, the airport winter road clearance service ensures safe operation. With the most modern technology and specially trained staff, they guarantee the airport over an area of more than 2.8 million m2 (this represents approx. 440 football fields), that even in adverse, wintry weather conditions, no danger to flight operations or on the airport roads can occur.

Fire service

A significant contribution to safety at the airport is provided by the airport fire service. Around the clock, the members of the works fire service perform their duties in three fire stations. In accordance with international regulations, the works fire service is in a position to reach, within three minutes, any point at the airport, in order to – if required – extinguish fires or assist.
