Leipzig/Halle Airport as a job engine

At present, more than 4,400 people are employed at airport companies and other firms, businesses, agencies and public authorities based here.

In addition there are indirect employment effects in aviation-related sectors. Put in numbers this means: One job at the airport secures on average two further (indirect) jobs in the region.

With the DHL relocation to Leipzig/Halle alone Deutsche Post World Net AG sees 3,500 new jobs being created. According to statements of the group a further 7,000 jobs would be added in the evironment of such a dynamic, globally operating organisation.
