Check-in
Every passenger has to check-in prior to departure. Please follow the signs indicating »Check-in« at Leipzig/Halle Airport.
For holiday flights, we recommend arriving 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure and 40 minutes prior to departure for scheduled flights. You will be informed of your exact check-in time by your travel agency or airline. Certain flights offer the opportunity to check in on the previous evening.
Check-in usually takes place at the airline’s counter or at the counters of the handling companies Airport Services Leipzig GmbH (ASL) or Aviation Handling Services GmbH (AHS). There is a separate check-in counter for each flight. Each display above the check-in counters indicates the airline, flight number and destination as well as the scheduled time of departure.
Please enquire about additional charges for excess luggage (20+ kg) or oversized luggage prior to your flight.

For many routes you can select your seat online and print out your own boarding card. Please note that this service is offered by the airlines themselves and is beyond the control of Leipzig/Halle Airport.

Pre-check-in *
Pre-check-in is from 6pm to 9pm for flights departing the next day. At present the following airlines provide this convenient alternative:
Handling by Airport Services Leipzig GmbH (ASL):
- for all flights of Air Berlin, Condor, German Sky Airlines, SKY Airlines, Sun Express and Tunis Air departing the following day
- for all flights of Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa departing between 12am and 6pm the following day

The pre-check-in counters in the check-in area are clearly marked. For checking in, you need your passport/ID card and your flight ticket/booking number.
If you are travelling in a group, you are also required to produce the tickets and passports/ID cards of your co-travellers. When checking in, you will receive your and your co-travellers’ luggage tickets and boarding passes.
Your benefits: On the day of your flight, you will encounter less waiting time and stress. Your seat is already reserved. On the day of the flight it is sufficient to arrive at the airport 60 minutes prior to departure in order to pass through the security check and get to the departure lounge.
Check-in deadline
The final check-in time for domestic flights and non-stop scheduled flights handled by AHS is 60 minutes prior to departure.
The final check-in time for Lufthansa flights is 40 minutes prior to departure for Economy Class passengers, and 30 minutes prior to departure for Business and First Class passengers.
