Logistics properties in Cargo Area South
World Cargo Center
- 20,000m2 cargo hangar
- annual handling capacity 200,000 tonnes
- 3,000m2 of offices and parking space
On an area of approximated 36,500m2, a state-of-the-art cargo hanger was built by World-Cargo-Center GmbH, a joint venture of Garbe Logistic AG Hamburg and the dutch GeoMar BV.
The World-Cargo-Center represents highest safety standard, has a direct connection to the apron as well as integrated customs facilities.
The special construction of the WCC provides an above avergage transhipping potential per square-metres of the hangar. The installation of a car parking space on the roof underlines the concept of an optimal space allocation.
In the vicinity of the first WCC the need-driven construction of a second hangar is planned. This hangar will have a direct connection to the apron as well.
Logistics security centre
As soon as consent is obtained from the local planning authority, DH Beteiligungen AG will set up a logistics security centre at Cargo Area South.
A logistics facility will be established to allow increasingly complex transport, handling, storage and distribution processes involving high-value products and goods to be carried out appropriately in the long run.
The new logistics security centre will also satisfy the ever-growing need for security.
Approximately 100 million euros will be invested and about 100 new jobs created.
A great range of offers
Apart from Cargo Area South, there are other very appealing areas of variable sizes and layouts available at the airport.
