Cargo Area South: An excellent place for investments

Cargo Area South provides especially air traffic-related companies with attractive areas for establishing branches.

The Crago Area South has an apron (12 ha) which is connected to the runway system via separate taxiways.

Furthermore, 8 ha of developed building land are available. This area is directly connected to a four-lane trunk road as well as the motorway and railway network. It offers excellent development opportunities for prospective investors.

 Cargo Area South offers:

  • 12 ha apron for up to six AN 124-100 or Airbus A 380 cargo aircraft
  • 8 ha of commercial space, partially with direct access to the apron
  • vacant building sites for aviation and logistics companies
  • direct link to major roads and railways

    World Cargo Center

    • 20,000m2 cargo hangar
    • annual handling capacity 200,000 tonnes
    • 3,000m2 of offices and parking space

On an area of approximated 36,500m2, a state-of-the-art cargo hanger was built by World-Cargo-Center GmbH, a joint venture of Garbe Logistic AG Hamburg  and the dutch GeoMar BV.

The World-Cargo-Center represents highest safety standard, has a direct connection to the apron as well as integrated customs facilities.

The special construction of the WCC provides an above avergage transhipping potential per square-metres of the hangar. The installation of a car parking space on the roof underlines the concept of an optimal space allocation.

In the vicinity of the first WCC the need-driven construction of a second hangar is planned. This hangar will have a direct connection to the apron as well.

    Logistics security centre

As soon as consent is obtained from the local planning authority, DH Beteiligungen AG will set up a logistics security centre at Cargo Area South.

A logistics facility will be established to allow increasingly complex transport, handling, storage and distribution processes involving high-value products and goods to be carried out appropriately in the long run.
The new logistics security centre will also satisfy the ever-growing need for security.

Approximately 100 million euros will be invested and about 100 new jobs created.
