Arriving by train
Regular long-distance connections link all larger towns in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia with Halle/Saale Central Station and Leipzig Central Station. For the customers of some tour operators, the journey by rail to Leipzig/Halle Airport is included.
In the central check-in area, you can find a Deutsche Bahn counter with the following opening times:
- Monday – Friday
08:15 am - 01:00 pm
01:30 pm - 04:15 pm
04:30 pm - 06:00 pm - Saturday
08:15 am - 11:00 am
11:30 am - 02:00 pm - Sunday
02:15 pm - 07:00 pm

Public transport: Direct train connection to the airport
Leipzig/Halle Airport can be accessed directly by train.
FlughafenExpress (DB AG) leaves from Leipzig Central Station and the airport every hour. A one-way trip takes 14 minutes with one stop at the new Leipzig Trade Fair.
Trains from Halle/Saale Central Station to Leipzig/Halle Airport leave every hour.

Long-distance connections: Direct train connection to the airport
Since 30 June 2003, the airport station has been connected to the long-distance railway network of Deutsche Bahn. Intercity trains from the Ruhr area service - Hannover - Magdeburg - Halle/Saale - Leipzig call at the airport station, thus allowing for a convenient journey to or from Leipzig/Halle Airport.

Deutsche Bahn luggage courier service
You have the option of having your luggage delivered to the airport by the luggage courier service of Deutschen Bahn. Three days prior to your departure, your luggage will be collected at your home. On the day of your flight, you can collect your luggage from the airport information desk (ground floor, Terminal B) at the agreed time. On your return, you can hand in your luggage at the airport information counter and it will be delivered to your home. You can buy the ticket required for this service at all DB agencies and travel centres.
